WHAT IS THE MALVERN EPS?
The Malvern Exploration and Paranormal Society (Malvern EPS) is a group that specializes in urban exploration and paranormal investigations based in small town Malvern in Northeast Ohio. The group is composed of four lifelong friends who have a passion for exploring and the supernatural: Brandon Greavu, Jacob Andrews, Seth Richards, and Joey Crowl.
It all began in November 2016 when we visited the abandoned Hardesty Mansion in our small town of Malvern. The house was owned by the founder and first mayor of Malvern, William Hardesty. Upon our visits to the mansion, we felt an exhilarating thrill in exploring the deteriorating and abandoned halls, knowing there was once a history to the place. Soon after, we visited the Fairmount Children's Home in Alliance, Ohio and quickly developed a passion for urban exploration.
We continued to visit over 30 major buildings and landmarks including hospitals, factories, orphanages, schools, bridges, and even football fields across Northeast Ohio in areas of Stark County, Carroll County, Summit County, Columbiana County, and more. Some places we have visited include Molly Stark Hospital, Edwin Shaw Hospital, the Crybaby Bridge in Salem, and the Akron Rubber Bowl. We plan on expanding our borders across all of Ohio including other states such as Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
After some time, we realized we have a goal and purpose in mind when exploring these dilapidated ruins, which is to showcase forgotten remains of Ohio to those who aren't willing to take that risk and preserve the history of these landmarks. Since then, we decided to make our passion more into a reality, thus creating the Malvern EPS. Recently, we've decided to widen our horizons and begin paranormal investigations in abandoned buildings and even occupied areas such as haunted bridges and cemeteries.
We use high-end gear including cameras, GoPros, EVP voice recorders, EMF meters, and more to conduct our investigations and experiments. We also take high-quality photographs of our expeditions for others to view, and soon plan on recording professional videos and upload them to YouTube.
Since our inception, the Malvern EPS has grown to become one of the most successful and recognized urban exploration groups in Northeast Ohio.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you take souvenirs from the places you visit?
We never take any souvenirs or items from any of the places we visit. One of our goals is to preserve and record the history of these forgotten remnants of society. Taking souvenirs, or any other item, would violate our commitment to that, and we want the places we experience to be the same for other peaceful visitors. Remember, "take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints."
Do you vandalize the places you visit?
We never vandalize, be disruptive or destructive of any of the places we visit. As stated above, our goal is to preserve these places for future peaceful visitors. We often like to goof around, but it is never with destructive intent.
Do you illegally gain entrance to these places?
We always seek permission to enter any property we visit. If we are unable to find a source of permission, we take caution on our trips and tread lightly. If we're ever caught by security or other personnel and asked to leave, we respect their wishes and exit the premises.
Do you bring weapons or tools with you?
We often bring tools such as a crowbar, bolt cutters, and knives for the sole purpose of emergencies in case we get trapped in an enclosed area or for personal reasons. We never use these tools to gain entrance to places or for harmful, destructive reasons. We do not bring any other form of weapons or tools.
Can I come with you guys on a mission?
Unfortunately, we usually do not allow other people to accompany us on our missions for several reasons. For one, we never know a stranger's intent or how they will act on a mission. Second, having four people is enough, and usually any number larger than that poses a severe risk. Sometimes, we will select some of our trusted friends to serve as substitutes in case one of our core four members are unable to attend a mission, but that is it. Sorry!
